This is an absolutely stunning fountain and it sounds just as good as it looks. Regarding the reviewer who complained that the pump is noisy: he/she should add more water. When the water level gets low in my fountain, it's an indication that I need to add more water. Then the only sound I hear is the soothing waterfall. :)

I've had no problems with splashing at all and I have the pump set on the highest level. I did place a small granite tile underneath the fountain at first until I was confident that there was no splashing or overflow.

I must say that the instructions arent very well-written. They rely mostly on photos which are too dark for easy reference. The list/photos of parts included is missing some important parts, which was frustrating but not too important once I figured out what they were. After I took some liberties with the assembly instructions, I was VERY pleased with how it all turned out. For example, there's a small piece of adhesive that's supposed to be inserted under the band that holds the slate; trying to keep that tiny adhesive piece in place while sliding the slate onto the curved holder was frustrating. I finally just removed it...turns out it's not necessary, as the slate stays perfectly in place very well without it. Too, there are extra rubber gaskets and other small pieces...a nice little bonus so dont worry that each little piece belongs somewhere important.

Despite the problems with instructions, I was able to assemble this fountain in less than 10-15 minutes. It's much lovelier than the photo depicts. I do agree with those who complain that the description is misleading in calling one of the materials copper. Other websites describe it as "copper colored metal" so I was prepared for that. When it's assembled and running, it looks enough like real copper that it's not a problem for me. This is a great bargain for the price and I'd certainly recommend it to friends and family.
