This is an absolutely stunning fountain and it sounds just as good as it looks. Regarding the reviewer who complained that the pump is noisy: he/she should add more water. When the water level gets low in my fountain, it's an indication that I need to add more water. Then the only sound I hear is the soothing waterfall. :)
I've had no problems with splashing at all and I have the pump set on the highest level. I did place a small granite tile underneath the fountain at first until I was confident that there was no splashing or overflow.
I must say that the instructions arent very well-written. They rely mostly on photos which are too dark for easy reference. The list/photos of parts included is missing some important parts, which was frustrating but not too important once I figured out what they were. After I took some liberties with the assembly instructions, I was VERY pleased with how it all turned out. For example, there's a small piece of adhesive that's supposed to be inserted under the band that holds the slate; trying to keep that tiny adhesive piece in place while sliding the slate onto the curved holder was frustrating. I finally just removed it...turns out it's not necessary, as the slate stays perfectly in place very well without it. Too, there are extra rubber gaskets and other small pieces...a nice little bonus so dont worry that each little piece belongs somewhere important.
Despite the problems with instructions, I was able to assemble this fountain in less than 10-15 minutes. It's much lovelier than the photo depicts. I do agree with those who complain that the description is misleading in calling one of the materials copper. Other websites describe it as "copper colored metal" so I was prepared for that. When it's assembled and running, it looks enough like real copper that it's not a problem for me. This is a great bargain for the price and I'd certainly recommend it to friends and family.

The fountain is beautiful and I was very excited. But when I plugged it in, the water ran along the top arch right off the side. My husband tried to fix it, and we thought we had, so I left it on for company and didn't know it was spewing water all over the table and the motor began running dry. The loud humming is what got my attention. I had thrown away the box and could not mail it back by then. Very disappointed for such an expensive purchase.

Purchased this fountain as a gift for my sister. She LOVED it, as I do myself. Arrived very quickly, neatly packaged, easy to assemble. Two things that I think could be improved upon, although do not overly detract from the one I purchased. One, our slate was not as round and colorful as the one pictured and two, I wish the light would shine up onto the slate. It is positioned directly under the slate and doesn't illuminate it as I would like. But these are minor issues that in my opinion just make it only slightly less than perfect!

It's made well. Good Quality. Slate is real. You can adjust the sound of the water by moving the rocks around, loud or soft. The light is a nice feature and is not too bright. Comtempoary look. Love it!

I purchased this fountain for a bedroom in a dry climate. I wanted to run it 24/7. It's too loud, and the LED lights, which you cannot remove, are too bright. Also, the fountain has other flaws, including that the bowl is not level, so I found it impossible to determine how much water was really in it. We have had a number of problems with the arm where the stone hangs. In particular, the pump does not seem strong enough to push the water all the way through. Therefore, water runs back down the arm, resulting in quite a bit of splashing.
If you run it for short periods and remember to check it frequently, this fountain might meet your needs. I'm sending mine back.

A: This fountain is electric and also includes a light.

Q4: What battery does this item use and how many or is it for 220v or only 110v ?
A: This item plugs directly to a common 110V house connection.
Q5: Is there a separate bowl inside of this planter bowl? Does the cord run Up and Over the planter bowl or from underneath and how long is the cord? Does the pump sit inside the larger bowl?
A: Yes there is a separate bowl that hides the pump underneath where the 4 foot cord will come out from.
