Pretty, but design flaws

This was a very pretty fountain, I can promise you is is very quiet and nice to look at. Sound of water is quiet but audible, perfect for a quiet room. The up-lighting if really effective on this unit. Don't expect the chimes to ring unless you touch them yourself.

There are definitely design flaws, which can be noted in other reviews. Mine had a broken top plate in the corner by the screw hole. It had an errantly drilled hole in the copper tube which made water shoot off to the side of the unit. It leaked around the electrical cord grommet.

I was able to drill a new hole in the copper in the proper position, seal off the bad one, glue the broken corner with superglue and seal the grommet with plumbers putty and silicone caulking. Now its nice!

We bought this fountain for our son's apartment as an accent piece. Assembly was best w/o instructions, in my opinion. After we started the fountain, we found the pump was very noisy and the chime just sat there. We then went back online to look at the video again. The water DID NOT make the chime move, but, someone obviosly moved the crystal ball to make the chime sound off.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

            The holes for the water flow is not working. On top of that I threw away the box and now I am sitting on fountain that doesn't work. I am out $80 plus.

                  Chime was cheap looking - picture shows a bell not a crystal which was with my fountain. Even with pump set to low, the water hitting the top portion of the chime caused so much water to splash out, that there was no way for it to work properly. The tubes of the chime were pushed together, so I pushed the slate as close together so the water would hit the slate and not the chime and then there was no water splashing, but alas no chime!
