You'll enjoy the style and serenity this fountain brings. Four leaves create troughs for the water and form multiple rivulets over each. A unique glow comes through, along with the water from the basin. Natural and polished stones are included for an authentic look. This fountain adds a pleasant accent to a desktop, workspace, or bedroom. Self-contained and easy to use, simply fill it up and plug it in! Crafted from durable poly-resin material with a golden shiny finish that looks like copper.

To keep the water clean we suggest perodically changing the water and clean the product according to the water condition. Keeping the water clean prevents water from becoming sticky and forming mircro-organisms. We recommend distilled water to prevent mineral build-up. To clean off hard water deposits on the base soak the container in a mixture of vinegar and water to clean and remove any mineral build-up. Also it is recommended to add water periodically to keep water level at an optimum level to avoid shortening the life of the pump.

Love the light & sound. It looks as if I have lit candles amoung my plants at night. It provides a calm, peaceful area and is beautiful to look at. I am working on following the directions to eliminate the excess pump noise which is slightly disturbing. I would purchase again.

I put this in the bedroom to add ambiance and it's working great so far.
You will need to buy more rocks - the bag that comes with the fountain was not even close to sufficent.
Be aware that the fountain is not coppery looking - it is brown. I had to buy copper paint and spray paint it myself to make it look okay. Once I did that, the cheap brown plastic look was much better. I don't know how you could look at this thing without painting it.
Pros
-Quiet Motor
-Runs pretty long without refilling
-Pretty light at night
Cons
-Requires more rocks than provided
-Ugly color (not as advertised)
-Not very loud (i.e. can't hear the water splashing as well as I'd like)

Comments about Homedics Envirascape™ Lighted Goldleaf Fountain:
The color of the "Gold Leaf" was not that at all. The color I received is green. I'm disappointed with this as the gold would have gone very nicely with the area I've placed it.

The air is dry so we really like having the fountain to supply humidity.

Comments about Homedics Envirascape™ Lighted Goldleaf Fountain:
I bought it because it said it was a beautiful golden color and that it made water-y sounds. Both of those were untrue. It is an ugly ochre with yellow lights on part of it. It looks horrible! I works, but it doesn't pump water all too quietly, and it ends up looking really stupid. But if you've got gold waterproof paint...

Comments about Homedics Envirascape™ Lighted Goldleaf Fountain:
While it was inexpensive, easy to install and does not look that bad....it does not achieve the effect that we were looking for. I would either spend more money on a better fountain or do nothing at all. It will require daily and/or weekly maintenance and the "soothing effect" and sounds that I have seen in other retail stores is just not there. There is a hum that is almost as loud as the rippling water sound.

Q1: Is this battery operated?
A: No, this has a cord and plugs in.
Q2: How often to I need to change the water?
A: Clean the fountain as it becomes dirty. Regularly changing the water (weekly) will help to keep the fountain cleaner, longer. Keeping the water clean prevents the water from becoming sticky and from forming microorganisms. An algicide or humidifier treatment can also be helpful. Direct sunlight will encourage growth of microorganisms, so it is best to keep the fountain out of direct sunlight.
Q3: Do I have to use filtered or distilled water in my fountain?
A: Distilled water is recommended to keep the fountain cleaner for longer periods of time and reduce buildup.
Q4: How long will a fountain run?
A: The fountain is designed to run as long as there is water. However, you will need to add water occasionally as it evaporates. Please keep in mind that a fountain is an electrical appliance and should not be left unattended when running.
Q5: Do I need to clean the inside of the pump?
A: There should be no need to clean the inside of the pump unless it stops working. The pump could stop working from algae buildup. See the Product Manual for instruction on removing algae from the pump. Remove the water pump inlet to access the impeller area. Then turn the rotor to ensure it is not broken or jammed.
