Enjoy the sights and sounds of the Smart Solar Blue Ceramic Cascade Water Fountain in your yard or patio. Water tumbles from one blue-glazed ceramic vessel to the next and then recycles back to the top via a hidden solar-powered pump. The solar panel can be placed up to 16 feet from the water fountain and moved to capture maximum power from the sun's rays. The bowls lift out of the weather-resistant metal frame for easy storage and maintenance.
Maximize effectiveness by placing the panel in full sunlight, avoiding shade. Angle the solar panel each season to absorb maximum sunlight. The panel can be wall-mounted, stand-mounted, or standing alone with the included hardware for a variety of placement options. A 16-foot cord attaches to the solar panel, making it easy to position almost anywhere. This product carries a one year warranty.
This fountain has a one-gallon water capacity and the bottom bowl is approximately 5.5 inches tall and 13 inches in diameter.
Special Note: Solar bird baths and fountains require plenty of direct sunlight to operate properly. Please be sure to have a sunny spot to place your bath or fountain. Also, the pump must never be operated dry (out of water). Dry operation permanently damages the pump.

I had been searching for a few weeks for an outdoor splash toy for my toddler with no luck. Most of the toys were cheap and had no moving water element. So then I got the idea of a fountain. The one I found has worked great: it was easy to set up, [...] and the solar panel worked without a problem. My only issue was that the bowls simply rest on the armature. However, I am using the fountain for an unintended application; securing the bowls is necessary for a toddler toy, but not for a garden accent! Now that it's set up, my daughter loves it (and it beats putting in a pool!).

I thought this fountain would be fabulous...I was sorely disappointed when I began assembly and realized how poorly designed the actual stand is. The ceramic is substandard quality, the glazing is very poor. The top jar that starts the water cascade doesn't fit in the stand well and sits crooked. I was also disappointed that the fountain only works with direct sun, even slight cloud cover or evening sun doesn't run the system. The solar panel does not store any energy. Today, while cleaning and refreshing the water the entire thing tipped over (in my opinion, because of the poor stand and design) and smashed. I am saddened, not over the loss of the fountain, but over the loss of the money. [...] Poor Design, I would not recommend to anyone who has pets or children as it topples easily. Also, plan on the water only with full sunshine. [...]

I think this product needs a little different design. When it is not quite sunny, the pump barely works and then you have leakage from the bowls onto ground and this then empties entire large bowl, which then if you are not at home etc, will expose pump to dryness. On a beautiful day it works like a champ. You also have to keep entire fountain LEVEL.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is my third Cascade Bird Bath Fountain, and I loved the first two except that the bowls were too easily broken by overly "playful" raccoons. The blue bowls seem sturdier and hopefully indestructible. One fault is that the blue vase color is a different shade from the rest of the ceramic bowls. The other problem is that the support base does not fit together well. I had to force parts together. Fortunately I have the support stand from my other fountains and will probably use one of those.

This is very pretty. A dark blue. I can not rate for functionality since it will not be placed in the flower garden until next spring. I have high hopes though since I have been searching for a water feature for a long time. I plan to do another review once it is in use

Well, I DON'T live in Omaha, NE lol don't know how that showed up on my profile! I live in FL and you would think that in the Sunshine State almost anywhere would get enough sun to power a small 6V pump wouldn't you? Wrong. This is a lovely fountain but if even a high cirrus cloud passes in front of the sun, the fountain STOPS immediately. I feel a little foolish paying this kind of money for 5 pretty earthenware bowls and a wrought iron stand!! It would be much better served to have a solar panel that charges a small battery so that the fountain could run for at least a short period of time when a cloud decides to pass in front of the sun. Then I could justify paying this much for it. We will most likely replace the pump at a pond shop locally. Just ridiculous..... I would not recommend this purchase unless you mount it on the roof and live in the desert!! Don't know where else it would be sunnier.

A: The bowl has a water capacity of 1 gallon.
Q2: Why is there an 8 hour usage limit on the AC adapter?
A: This 8 hour limit is a recommended time of usage. If you run the pump continuously for too long, it could burn out.

A: The bottom bowl is about 5.5 inches tall and about 13 inches diameter.

A: It is very easy to change the pump by just un-attaching it to the solar panel and the hose. Unfortunately we do not offer replacement parts. Please contact Smart Solar directly.
Q5: I just purchased this foutain and Love it..Two questions: Does it harm the fountain and solar panel to be in the rain. Will the panel absorb the sun's rays for future use?. I thought I could plug it in all day,but may have to buy another for my outdoor electrical socket..Thanks
A: It is not harmful for rain to hit the solar panel. The solar panel does not store energy.
