Q1: How long is this the cord on this item?

A: The cord is 6 feet long.

Q2: If we do not wish to excavate for the three level pond kit but to put it above ground and bank soil around the various levels, do you have instructions for that?

A: Unfortunately we do not have those instructions but it can be done.

Q3: Does the water fall part of the pond look like rock? Are the 3 level ponds black or do they look like rock? Can I leave the pond out in the winter-I live in North Dakota? Thank you

A: You will need to add additional rocks to make it look like it does in the image. You can leave the pond out in North Dakota weather but we do suggest you take out the pump and place it in a dry area.

Q4: With the 3 level kit, is the molded pool a perfect circle? Also, is it possible to purchase a smaller pump? Thanks

A: We only offer the fountain with the enclosed pump. The kit is not a complete circle.

At 300 gallons per hour, the Backyard Nature Products 3 Level Cascade Pond Kit keeps waterfalls going strong. The molded resin and fiberglass design fits easily into your backyard decor. The circulating water is especially attractive to birds of all feathers. Constructed of durable resin and fiberglass, it holds up well to all kinds of weather, season after season.

Please note for best circulation of your pond - The fountain rock shown in the alternate images, is meant to be placed at the very top of the complete set-up while the pump is placed at the very lowest point of the complete set-up. This creates the very best recirculation cycle. A .75-inch hose connects these two units together. The length of the hose can be as long as it needs to be to complete the circuit.

*** If the water becomes dirty and you want to put in clean water , disconnect the tubing from the Water Fall Flowmaster, and lay it away from the bath and use the pump to empty the pool out onto the adjacent ground. Then unplug the pump, and sponge out the last of the muddy water.

* OR TO COMPLETELY CLEAN YOUR POND YOU CAN DO THE FOLLOWING.
1. Unplug the pump, push the gravel aside off the mesh strainer, remove the strainer and pump.

2. Use a jet of water from a garden hose to wash the gravel beginning with the top cascade and working down to the bottom pool.

3. Take a one gallon pail or equivalent sized container and dip the muddy water out of the bottom pool and pour it on the ground.

4. Wash the gravel in the bottom pool again with the hose and repeat dumping it out with the bucket. You can also stir the gravel by hand or with a stick to help suspend the dirt so it can be dumped out.

5. Usually 2 washings are sufficient to achieve sufficient cleanliness, but if you wish, you can do more.

6. If you suspect debris has gotten into the pump, see the pump instructions for pump disassembly and cleaning.

7. Once complete, reinstall the pump and mesh gravel strainer, refill with clean water and restart the pump. The water may be somewhere dingy but it should clear in an hour or two.

We absolutely love our 3 tiered fountain. And so do the animals. There are 4-5 birds in it all of the time. Even chippy bathing! A little longer to build than expected, but not difficult. It is beautiful and entertains us for hours!

The kit arrived suprisingly quickly, and well packaged. I opened and took note that everything was in fact there, it was. I decided that I wanted to actually convert it into a Koi Pond (The supplied liners, are only 3-5 inches deep, while the bigger one is maybe 8" at it deepest point). I purchased another pond liner seperately to make the koi pond(approx. 5'x4'x4'), and used the included smaller inserts as 2 small bird bath ponds with waterfalls draining into the koi pond, and the bigger suplied liner as a small pond with a rock in the middle surrounded by plants. The supplied pump is very quiet, and the waterfall rock included is realistic enough looking that it is very easy to hide, or make it blend in.

We put this at the end of our deck in a raised bed because we wanted a small water feature with a lot of water "noise", but not a lot of work that fit in a small place as our "in town" yard is not that big. This fit perfectly in the bed and was installed in a couple hours. The only problem we have had is that the shade that I thought it would be in, is not really enough, and when it is windy the water evaporates too quickly and we can't leave it on if we go away for more than a day. Some days I need to fill it twice with several gallons each time - good thing I installed a rain barrel near it. I think we are going to make the last tier deeper to help alleviate that problem next year.
It really does bring in birds and they get really brave. I've had robins and sparrows drinking and bathing within 2 feet of me if I sit still.
I stuck in parts of impatient plants that broke off and babies from my spider plants and some mint sprigs in the pools and they are doing just great. As the season goes on it just gets better as they fill in and bloom. It's fabulous!
