Q1: what is the depth of the pond? how deep is the water when it is full?

A: The depth without any gravel is about 3.5 inches. With the recommended gravel in place you could expect a water depth that varies from 1.5 to 3 inches.

Q2: Can this support water plants?

A: Yes, these bird creeks are very durable. It will support any shallow water plants you can find

Q3: Availability of additional rocks?

A: You will be able to purchase at your local home and garden store.

Q4: will this fountain look like the picture or will more flat rocks have to be purchased to look like this. I am not talking about the stones inside the pool area, but the outer edging flat rocks.

A: The edging and water fall rocks are not included. Edging and waterfall rocks, about 5x7x1 inch thick, which if layed out would form a border 10 ft. long (approximately 50 lbs). Edging rock thicker than 1 inch can obscure the birds which come to bathe. Rocks thinner than 1 inch are fine and often are easier to work with.

The Backyard Nature Products Mini 2 Level Cascade Pond Kit keeps its waterfall strong at 250 gallons per hour. For backyards or interiors, the molded design offers easy installation into a variety of spaces. It is especially suited to the outdoors where it can attract a variety of neighborhood birds. Durable molded resin and fiberglass construction withstands even harsh weather conditions season after season. The kit comes in 2 sections. One section is 32 x 22 inches and the second section is 24 x 17 inches.

Please note for best circulation of your pond - The fountain rock shown in the alternate images, is meant to be placed at the very top of the complete set-up while the pump is placed at the very lowest point of the complete set-up. This creates the very best recirculation cycle. A .75-inch hose connects these two units together. The length of the hose can be as long as it needs to be to complete the circuit.

*** If the water becomes dirty and you want to put in clean water , disconnect the tubing from the Water Fall Flowmaster, and lay it away from the bath and use the pump to empty the pool out onto the adjacent ground. Then unplug the pump, and sponge out the last of the muddy water.

* OR TO COMPLETELY CLEAN YOUR POND YOU CAN DO THE FOLLOWING.
1. Unplug the pump, push the gravel aside off the mesh strainer, remove the strainer and pump.

2. Use a jet of water from a garden hose to wash the gravel beginning with the top cascade and working down to the bottom pool.

3. Take a one gallon pail or equivalent sized container and dip the muddy water out of the bottom pool and pour it on the ground.

4. Wash the gravel in the bottom pool again with the hose and repeat dumping it out with the bucket. You can also stir the gravel by hand or with a stick to help suspend the dirt so it can be dumped out.

5. Usually 2 washings are sufficient to achieve sufficient cleanliness, but if you wish, you can do more.

6. If you suspect debris has gotten into the pump, see the pump instructions for pump disassembly and cleaning.

7. Once complete, reinstall the pump and mesh gravel strainer, refill with clean water and restart the pump. The water may be somewhere dingy but it should clear in an hour or two.

I am so glad I got this, [...] it didn't take long to set up at all. The pump started making noise when I was putting the small gravel in (I had rinsed it first), but I followed the cleaning instructions & within a couple minutes had it going again. And it looks nice - the little rock piece the water trickles out of isn't one of those cheap-looking things that screams FAKE PILE OF ROCKS. It's so relaxing to listen to the waterfall - I propped mine up higher to make more of a sound - I look forward to sitting out on my patio & plugging this in. Perfect for a smaller yard, just what I was looking for.

It was smaller than I pictured but for the area where I choose to install it works perfectly. It was intended to be a small pond for birds and to cool off our dog. Works to perfection, sounds great - like the streams in Colorado running over boulders!
