Fountain, 120 gph pump with a 1 year guarantee
Can a fish whistle? This one can, burbling a water song that rinses away your tense day. The Alpine Bird Bath Water Fountain with Fish whistles of all the green verdigris beauty of patina copper, without the care and expense. The polyresin construction can't rust, doesn't fade, and never needs polishing. You'll feel as carefree as your fish. No plumbing required either, because the water basin and pump are entirely self-contained. Put it in your garden, add water, and you have a fountain that shoots a plume up to 16 inches high. You'll find that birds love to frolic in this backyard playground.
Never let any fountain freeze. Like all water tools, water fountains should be drained and brought inside during cold seasons, so swelling ice doesn't damage the pump.

It is recommended that you bring this fountain indoors during the winter. If the pump were to freeze, it would break. It is also recommended to change the water at least once a month to keep from any mossy build-up.

The fountain looks very nice and it's easy to install, although they forgot to put the screws in the box. Because it's a light material the best way you can sturdy it is to put nice rocks or flowerpot on the foot for a little more support. The design is great and it's a nice asset to the garden. Unfortunately, my birds don't like the movement of the waterfall so they stay away from it. They keep using their old tray.

This tier fountain was exactly the "look" I was going for and I love that the birds are already coming by for a drink. My fountain is in the corner of my deck and I think the setting is very nice. I love to look at it as I pass the windows and hear the water running. The flimsy design concerns me though. The plastic seems to sway with the weight of the water too easily. I believe if a squirrel were to jump on it, the fountain would tip over. Leveling is difficult as well. When I get the large bowl level, the two smaller tiers are off, which is obvious as the water trickles down lop sided, etc. I originally had the pump on high, but figured out pretty quickly that the water shoots out of the top and partially goes outside of the bottom bowl which will empty the fountain in a short time. Leaving the pump on the low setting works best for me, but water still needs to be added periodically depending on how much you have it running. I find this fountain very enjoyable, but I wouldn't feel comfortable giving it as a gift. There are little quirks (mentioned above) that I've had to figure out over time, and others may not be as patient.

Comments about Alpine Bird Bath Fountain with Fish:
I liked the color and the fountain aspect of this. My grandson liked the fish, so I ordered it. I don't recall reading that electricity was needed. Self-contained. May have missed that, but that became an issue. The directions for assembly are inadequate. The pictures are indistinguishable, and you really can't tell which piece is which. I looked at the picture on the box - got more help from that. The metal post doesn't fit through the middle section; the hole is too small. When sitting on the floor, of course it sits crooked because of the cord. Worst, though, is that the parts are not screwing on straight. That gives it a crooked look. I will keep trying.

Comments about Alpine Bird Bath Fountain with Fish:
This fountain/bird bath is just what my yard needed. Assembly was easy and only needed a bit of expected leveling to make it the accent I wanted. Will be adding a led light for the evening since I love to sit at night in the gazebo and watch the fountain. As my grandson states.."It's so peaceful out here gamma". Thank you Hayneedle for presenting such an affordable memory.

Q1: How big is the tubing?
A: This fountain comes with copper pipe approximately 1/4" in diameter.
Q2: How can this item be protected during the snowy weather season without the pump freezing?
A: This fountain (and all fountain bird baths) should not be left outdoors during winter. If the pump were to freeze, it would break. Your best bet would be to take it indoors into a place where it can remain out of the harsh conditions.
Q3: What is the rise of the pump to the top of the fountain?
A: At full power it will shoot the water up up to 16 inches
Q4: Is this item run by solar power? I am looking for a fountain that is.
A: This is not run on solar power. If you type in the word solar in the search box it will bring up all the items that are solar. Also if you go to the Outdoor Fountains tab and on the left hand side please select Solar Fountains. That will also bring them up.
Q5: CAN IT BE USED INSIDE A GLASSED- IN PATIO? WILL IT SPLASH?
A: It can be used indoors without a problem but I do think you may have some splashing beyond the outer lip/rim.
